NC-DRV-MSL-NDX2 · 24 Profiles · NDX Gen 2 · NAM A1 Standard (Full Quality)

The rarest Tube Screamer of all — produced for only a few months in 1985 as part of Ibanez's short-lived Master series. The MSL Metal Screamer is the missing link between the early Tube Screamers and the later TS-10: it shares the coveted JRC4558D op-amp and mid-focused drive DNA, yet delivers a noticeably fuller low-end than any other Screamer variant, making it useful far beyond its misleading "Metal" name. So few units ever left the factory that the MSL remains virtually unknown and highly collectible.

Its low (~470 Ω) input impedance makes the circuit subtly reactive to real pickup loading, so this profile was captured with our Neutron Inductor. The inductor's influence is gentle but crucial, restoring the slight compression and "bouncy" feel of a direct guitar signal while preserving the MSL's rare, full-range Tube Screamer tone.

24 profiles · format: NC-DRV-MSL-NDX2-XX-D**-T** — Drive (D) at 0, 5 or 10; Tone (T) at 0, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. The non-linear tone control drops the treble quickly between 10 and 8, so the unusual T9 position is included for the bright-but-not-harsh sweet spot.
